Who we are

This site is run by Local Scoop (Digital) Ltd ("we", "us"), the publisher of the Local Scoop Derby newsletter. Our registered address is 47a Queen Street, Derby, DE1 3DE. For anything about your data, email localscoopderby@gmail.com.

We are the data controller for the information you give us when booking a sponsorship slot. We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

When you book a slot, we collect only what you type into the booking form:

We do not run advertising, analytics or third-party tracking on this site. We do not build a profile of you or follow you around the web.

Payment

Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. When you pay, you enter your card details on Stripe's own secure checkout, not on our site. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe processes your payment as a separate data controller under its own privacy policy. We receive back only confirmation that a payment succeeded, its amount, and your booking reference.

Why we hold it, and for how long

We use your details to write and publish your sponsored slot, to contact you about your booking, and to keep proper business and tax records. The lawful bases are performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interest in running the newsletter. We keep booking records for as long as needed to deliver the slot and to meet our legal and accounting duties (generally six years for financial records), then delete them.

Who we share it with

We share your details only with the services that make the booking work: Stripe (payment), Google (we keep a copy of bookings in a private Google Sheet), and Make.com (which moves the booking between those systems). Each acts under its own data terms. We never sell your data or pass it to advertisers.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to our using it. Email localscoopderby@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
